UN POCO DE HISTORIA. A LITTLE ABOUT OUR HISTORY

El club Luis Cid-Fuentes, nació a raíz de la búsqueda de unas instalaciones "alternativas" para practicar el vuelo circular y paralelas a las que ya existían... y existen en Cuatro Vientos.

Our club was born because of the need to look for an alternative flight installation that was still (and it was still) at Cuatro Vientos airfield.

Esta búsqueda estuvo motivada por la  preocupación de un grupo de los socios del antiguo club, por la precariedad de dichas instalaciones, debido únicamente a su ubicación, y por la creencia de estos, que algún día, no muy lejano (esperemos que no sea así) pudieran desaparecer "engullidas" por algún plan de reestructuración del aeropuerto de Cuatro Vientos y una posible urbanización de la zona.

This decision was motivated by the precariousness of these old facilities and the permanent concern and permanent risk of the disappearance of the flying runway due to some modification of the Cuatro Vientos airfield or some real estate operation in the area.

Fueron 8 amigos los fundadores iniciales del Club, que decidieron el nombre como homenaje al Sr. Luis Cid-Fuentes y celebrando por aquellas fechas la tercera prueba de F2B con su nombre. Decidimos hacer extensible el nombre de la competición al nombre del Club, para seguir homenajeando a esa gran persona, gran amigo y gran compañero de vuelos. Te queremos Luis.

The initial founders of the Club were eight friends, who decided the name as a tribute to Mr. Luis Cid-Fuentes and celebrating for those dates the third F2B contest with his name. So, they decided to extend the name of the competition to the name of the Club, to continue paying tribute to that great person, great friend and great flight partner. We love you, Luis..

Tras sortear diferentes obstáculos, incluida la disolución del Club de Aeromodelismo Cuatro Vientos y por tanto volando donde y como podíamos, con el club ya constituído pero sin ninguna instalación, el 9 de octubre de 2012  y después de conseguir permiso del Ayuntamiento de Getafe y cesión de los terrenos donde actualmente nos encontramos por fin empezamos las obras para empezar a construir las nuevas instalaciones. Con mucho trabajo, mucho esfuerzo y muy poco dinero hemos conseguido mejorarlas sin cesar.

After dealing with different difculties, including the dissolution of the Cuatro Vientos Aeromodelling Club and therefore flying where and as we could, with the Club already constituted but without any facility, on October the 9th 2012, and after getting permission from the Getafe Town Hall (close to Madrid, Spain) and assignment of the land where we are currently, finally we started the works to start building the new facilities. With a lot of work, a great job and very little money we have managed to improve the facilities incessantly..

Aunque nuestra actividad principal es la acrobacia de vuelo circular, categoría FAI - F2B, actualmente también tenemos una importante actividad en combate FAI - F2D. Hemos organizado el Campeonato Nacional de España en categorías F2B y F2D en 2022. Uno de nuestros mayores esfuerzos e intereses es la promoción de nuevos y jóvenes aeromodelistas y por supuesto la promoción de otras disciplinas dentro del vuelo circular: F2A, F2C, F2F, etc.

Although our main activity is the circular flight acrobatics, FAI - F2B category, we also have an important activity in FAI - F2D combat. We have organized the National Championship of Spain in F2B and F2D categories in 2022. One of our greatest efforts and interests is the promotion of new aeromodellers and of course the promotion of other disciplines within the control line: F2A, F2C, F2F, etc.

Pero para poder promocionar nuevos aeromodelistas y poder desarrollar y promocionar otras disciplinas del vuelo circular es imprescindible disponer de una pista de vuelo de hormigón. Para ello pedimos la ayuda de todos los apasionados del aeromodelismo y el vuelo circular. Necesitamos tu apoyo. Te necesitamos a tí. Gracias.
